What Pantry is, and isn't
Pantry is a kitchen-organization tool. It helps you track inventory, suggests recipes, logs macros, and surfaces local grocery deals.
Pantry is not:
A medical or nutritional advice service. Macro suggestions are estimates, not prescriptions. Consult a registered dietitian for actual dietary advice.
A food safety authority. Expiry estimates are guidance, not guarantees. When in doubt, throw it out.
A guarantee that prices shown for grocery deals are current. We surface what we find, but you should always confirm at the store.
Your responsibility
You're responsible for what you put in your inventory and how you use the app's suggestions.
You're responsible for verifying allergens before consuming any recipe, especially if you have severe allergies. AI-generated recipes can occasionally make mistakes — always read the ingredient list yourself.
You're responsible for confirming local deal accuracy before relying on prices in-store.
Acceptable use
Don't use Pantry to:
Submit content that violates intellectual property rights or applicable laws
Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to access the app's backend systems beyond intended use
Submit content designed to harm other users, the app, or third parties
AI-generated content
Pantry uses AI (Anthropic's Claude API) to generate recipes, extract inventory from photos, and find local deals. AI output is generated content, not human-curated. It can be wrong. Use judgment, especially around food safety, allergens, and macro accuracy.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Pantry is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to: spoiled food, missed grocery deals, mis-tracked macros, allergic reactions to recipes, or business interruption.
Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Your continued use of Pantry after updates constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, where Pantry is built. Disputes will be resolved in Ontario courts.
